Paleo Popsicles

I havent posted in over a month!

Im not a good Blogger...

It has been incredible warm here in Colorado and I have found a new Hobby: Making Popsicles.

I started very easy. I bought organic, unprocessed Apple-Pear Juice at Whole Foods and added them to Zipcicle bags which I had bought several months ago at World Market.

But today I decided to be a bit more creative and came up with the following:

Macha Green Tea

I basically made a Macha Green Tea  Latte with Almond Milk

1 Teaspoon Macha Powder
about 2 Tablespoons hot water
1 Cup Almond Milk
Sweetener to taste

1. Add Macha Powder to Cup and cover with hot water. Stir vigorously.

2. When and if you manage to dissolve all the tea add Sweetener and stir some more.

3. Add Milk and mix.

4. Add to Zipcicles and freeze for at least 4 Hours

Mango

1/2 Mango
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
1 Cup filtered Water

1. Cut Mango in Chunk and add to Blender or tall cup if you use an Emulsion Blender like I do (I used a Mason Jar)

2. Add Lemon Juice and Water, blend until smooth

3. Strain if you like, I did not and it has a different texture than Popsicles, more like a Smoothie

4. Add to Zipzicles (save half if you want to make the next recipe) and freeze for at least 4 Hours.

Mango Raspberry

1/2 of the Mango Mixture above
1/2 cup frozen Raspberries
1/4 Cup of Water
Sweetener to taste

1. Combine Mango Mixture, Raspberries and Water in Blender or preferred Vessel.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. Add sweetener if needed. This depends on the sweetness of the Raspberries. Blend some more.

4. Strain, if preferred, or enjoy "Smoothie Popcicles"

5. Add to Zipcicles and freeze for at least 4 Hours.

Peanut Butter & Jelly

now this one is a bit crazy and due to the Peanuts not Paleo approved. WF was out of Almond Butter which is most likely a great substitute if you live Paleo.
But it is my husbands favorite flavor and since I used Whole Foods unsalted PB it is somewhat healthy anyway (it seriously only contains Peanuts!).

1 Cup Almond Milk
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup Raspberries
1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
Sweetener if needed

1. Combine Milk, Peanut Butter, Raspberries and Salt in Blender or preferred Vessel.

2. Blend until Smooth.

3. Add sweetener if needed. This depends on the sweetness of the Raspberries. Blend some more.

4. Strain, if Peanut Butter was on the chunky side

5. Add to Zipcicles and freeze for at least 4 Hours.

not the choosen one

and then I was without a camera again...

I returned it yesterday, we did not get along, at all!

It kept giving me error messages, about 3 out of 5 pictures would "not contain image data".

So putting effort into trying to get a good shot is really frustrating if you don't know if you ever get to see it.

And random shootings resulted in 3 eyed dogs and 8 legged cats.

(that pink area can also only be seen by the camera, mysterious!)

Also, the Book Signing we were going to was cancelled. Bummer!

Instead we went Grocery Shopping.

Stopped by the European Market for some ingredients for waffles .... (seriously, if I would have known about the store being 1,5 Blocks away from our house we might have moved somewhere else)

They had Pretzelsticks/Salzstangen for the first time ever!

And so after a long day out in the snow and leftover Blizzard (it still has not stopped snowing!) my husband sat on the couch, with ice cream, dipping the Pretzelsticks in it....

The German in me died a little bit but after some (a lot) of convincing I tried it and I guess it isn't horrible...

Cherry Creek!

I love the Cherry Creek Mall and Shopping Streets!

It's the shopping area for rich people. So a lot of the Boutiques on the Shopping Streets will never see us, but there are a lot of more broad places for us to go to.

We are able to walk there from our house so we go quite often.
And there is always something to see.
You basically can't be in the mall without meeting some purse dog that is incredibly bad behaved.
And crossing the street should not be done if a Porsche is nearby, they don't care and you will have to jump out of the way ... It's ridiculous...

But they also have the 2 stores my husband loves most.
And they have paper bags, which always means you'll spend more money there than you should.

And while my husband got plenty of stuff (including Wusthoff Knives, Steal and Carving Fork...) it was me that found something I've been missing for the last 10 years!
(basically, since I've moved out from home, so 10+ years..)

(I actually squealed when I saw it, which triggered the instincts of the employees there and we got ultra fast service! ha)

so if anyone has a great Waffles Recipe, please share!

I've made 2 batches so far and still have a way to go...

Oh and since the blizzard started just after we came home there is plenty of time for trying out nice hot waffles with cream and cherries!

(it started slow but he was covered in snow within 5 seconds)

I will try it out for the next few days, so hopefully this will be the one! :)

Friday the 13th ;)

you can really tell from my Instagram when my husband has a day off...

so many pictures! haha

We decided to order Dunkin Donuts through Postmates this morning.
Postmates is a service that will deliver you stuff (like ANYTHING) from any store you want.
So you could have them pick up Mc Donalds, or have them do your Grocery Shopping.
And on a funny sidenote: I've learned about this App from Jason Segel's Sister. You know, Marshal from How I Met Your Mother.

Anyway, so we got Donuts.
And as soon as hubby opened the Box we both realized we liked Krispy Kreme...
Maybe we shouldn't order stuff when we are half asleep haha

so yeah those Donuts were ok but so not worth the sugar and Gluten.
In fact I suffered all day and I ate less than half of one :(

evil evil Donuts

After we took the Dog for a walk we decided to go and eat a big bowl of veggies and chicken at Tokyo Joes. For us, it is THE place.

We also took part of the biggest Starbucksdate ever ... but that was a let down too :(
Worst coffee ever!

And we went Grocery Shopping and saw lots of fun and yummy stuff ;)

Life does not come with a spell check

This btw is the most German bread I have found so far, it is delicious!
Peasant Loaf @ Whole Foods

Seriously YUM! try it!

Zoodles

I made Zoodles (Zucchini-Noodles) yesterday for the first time.

I tried out the Julienne Peeler we had bought in December and I realized its a left-handed Peeler ... Im not left-handed.

So that was fun...

I wasn't sure about it because I dont like Zucchinis. They are always mushy and have no flavor. But that worked in it's favor this time. Zoodles are actually really really yummy!

We've tried Spaghetti Squash before but I only like it with a spicy Tomato Sauce my Hubby makes.
But he likes Meat Sauce so it never really worked for us.

But the Zoodles with an homemade meat sauce! I loved them!
Definitely my go to now!
Ill just have to buy a different machine to make them ;)
