about me

I used to live in Europe, was an Au Pair, a full-time Step Mother, had an amazing job, worked the worst of worst and don't stay in a spot too long.

Now I live in the US, for the moment, work from home, take pictures non stop and battle PCOS.

this is my Journey

___

I used to live in Germany, across the street from some very historic sights.
Truly, growing up around real castles and monuments of a darker time you don't understand how much impact those things have had.
At least that's how it was for me.
___

I think back to my time as an Au Pair with very mixed feelings

My "Hostmum" was an odd duck.

Sure, who isn't an odd duck sometimes?

But she took it to an extreme, an uncomfortable extreme.

She sent me on dates with her boyfriend when she could not make time for him. These were only Dinners shared with a friend. But who does that?

Any time spent with her children was wasted time to her.
And these kids where no "accident" she choose to adopt all 3 of them.

Serving Sizes where taking to an extreme.
We all have seen the little sticker on the back of our food and who really only eats 5 chips?
The Rules of Serving Sizes are meant to be broken... right?
She took at a different way. If it said "feeds 2" it was plenty for 4.
I was hungry all year long.

But still, I made some amazing friends during that year and still love to read Blogs about the Journey of other Au Pairs.
So if you are an Au Pair and saw me following your Blog, now you know why.

___

I went back home after my Au Pair year and then met my future husband there.
In 7 years we have lived in 3 states together.
And for a few of those years we were able to  have the children of his first marriage living with us.

___

6 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS.
There is no cure so I am still battling it and always will be.

After endless attempts of fertility treatment I am going a more natural way right now.
I'm trying to heal myself the Paleo way.
___

Oh and after a really good 10 year run my camera dies a peaceful death a few weeks ago.
It is very hard to decide on a new member of our household, but I just haven't found "the one".
So cell phone pictures will be all I have to offer for now.
But once I have one I will enroll in Photography school and will share that Journey on here too
